A Mayan-Balinese inspired villa designed with Feng Shui (harmonizing with the surrounding environment "an indoor-outdoor relationship"). The carefully crafted details please both the heart and the eyes. An open plan layout allows natural gentle cooling from the refreshing lagoon breeze.
Built with extensive use of local natural materials in an open-air living environment. It is a genuine wellness place! Traditional Balinese
houses seek to be in harmony with the environment and are built almost entirely of organic materials, such as thatch roofing, bamboo, local
hardwoods, concrete and stone.

Stunning property and great views of the lake. The host and manager are super helpful and responsive. Kitchen well equipped and the hot tub is a brilliant bonus. Would highly recommend! Caitlin, England · April 2016 · on AirBnb
Everything about the place was amazing! Astrid and Shawn made us feel so welcome and at home; they recommended things and activities to do. The room was exactly as the pictures showed, we had Wi-Fi, and the house was so beautiful and well located. Patricia, Mexico · April 2016 · on AirBnb
I've admired this spectacular building for years, so I was thrilled to be able to stay there. The Jungle Room is unique. It's like being indoors & outdoors simultaneously, especially when it rains. I loved it. I was lucky to find Astrid there. She & Shawn were both great hosts. I plan to go back next year. Susan, USA · March 2016 · on AirBnb
We had a fabulous stay in Bacalar! Shawn was very responsive to our needs and dropped in to say hi and make us feel very welcome. He also provided suggestions on places to visit and a great general overview of the area. The jungle room was very cozy and the common area with the couch and hammock provided a great area to relax and read. The location was perfect, easy walking to shops, groceries and cafe's. We hope to return again in the future! Alyssia, USA · February 2016 · on AirBnb
Magnifique !!! Rien a dire le paradis je recommande 100% !! Benoit, France · January 2016 · on AirBnb
Lucky us, we were the only guests in the house. The room is spacious and the outdoor shower fantastic. The livingroom is cosy, on a rainy day it wouldn't be a problem to spend some hours there... the house is open build, you can hear the neighbourhood. But for us that wasn't a problem. All in all we can recomend the room and would go back again. Christian, Switzerland · December 2015 · on AirBnb
